Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], July 21: In a momentous cultural and technological milestone, Vyoma Linguistic Labs Foundation successfully hosted the Lokārpaṇam (dedicatory launch) of the world’s first OTT-format Sanskrit learning platform — www.digitalsanskrit.com in Bengaluru today.

The event drew scholars, technologists, educators and cultural enthusiasts, all united in the mission to revitalise Sanskrit and Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) through digital innovation.

The morning commenced with an insightful panel discussion on “Democratising Indian Knowledge Systems through Technology.” The esteemed panel included Sri Senapathy “Kris” Gopalakrishnan, Co-founder of Infosys and a prominent patron of Indian heritage, and Prof. B. Mahadevan, renowned Sanskrit scholar and retired professor from IIM Bangalore. The session was skilfully moderated by Smt. Vanisri Ragupati, a software architect and Sanskrit educator.

The panelists deliberated on the urgent need to make IKS more widely accessible and relevant in today’s digital age. They explored the potential of large language models (LLMs) rooted in Indic wisdom and emphasised the importance of integrating ancient knowledge systems with emerging technologies. “We must make India’s knowledge heritage universally available and comprehensible. Technology is the bridge,” Prof. Mahadevan stated.

Sri Kris Gopalakrishnan, who also launched the platform, hailed the initiative as “a visionary effort that not only preserves but also democratises our timeless knowledge through technology.” He lauded the platform for offering structured, affordable, and joyful learning to global users, adding, “This is how we take India’s ancient wisdom to the global stage in a truly accessible way.”

The platform, www.digitalsanskrit.com, features an intuitive user interface, AI-enabled search, and multi-genre content. With a wide variety of formats—including video tutorials, podcasts, audiobooks, games, and e-books—it caters to learners of all ages and backgrounds, encouraging lifelong engagement with Sanskrit.

Organised by Vyoma Linguistic Labs Foundation—an organisation committed to Saṃskṛtam (Knowledge Paramparā), Saṃskṛtiḥ (culture and heritage), and Saṃskāraḥ (values and virtues)—the event marks a significant leap in its journey.

Dr. CA. Viswanathan P, CEO, Vyoma Linguistic Labs Foundation, said, “Over the years, Vyoma has touched more than one lakh learners through its pioneering ‘3S’ methodology. This new OTT platform is envisioned as the next step in their mission to empower individuals through cultural education.”

In the words of Dr. Venkatasubramanian P, Co-founder & COO, “This is not just a technological innovation; it is a cultural renaissance. Sanskrit deserves to live and thrive in the hearts of millions—not as a relic of the past, but as a living, breathing force in our future.”
