Torrent Group’s UNM Foundation starts 6th Edition of Abhivyakti – The City Arts Project in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], November 26: Abhivyakti – The City Arts Project – an initiative of UNM Foundation of the Mehta family’s Torrent Group is back with Edition-6 bringing fresh ideas & themes by creators and performers from across India.

The 15-day event has started on November 21st and will conclude on December 8th 2024 with a showcase of 140 performances by 96 artists in genres including dance, music, theatre and visual art installations.

In line with previous editions, Abhivyakti continues to be a preferred platform for artists to ideate, create, perform and get acknowledged for their originality and artistic expressions. The audience entry is open-to-all on first come, first served basis. It is in line with UNM Foundation’s vision to make various art forms accessible to masses with absolutely free of any cost and provide a wide scale of platform to artists for new creations.

Abhivyakti’s popularity has spread across India as Edition-6 has received 1,236 applications for participation from different parts of the country. This corroborates the core mission of Abhivyakti i.e. to provide a platform to original thinking and experimentation in different forms of art.

The previous Edition-5 had received record footfalls of over 1.75 lakh during the fortnight. Since its first edition in 2018, this one-of-its-kind Arts Project has witnessed participation from more than 304 artists and on a platform provided by the UNM Foundation’s initiative for art and culture. Over the past six years, the Project has gained the scale and admiration with so far over 3 lakh visitors have already experienced these stellar performances and art expositions.

Abhivyakti – The City Arts Project is an endeavor of UNM Foundation of Mehta Family’s Torrent Group, which envisions making art an integral part of the social fabric, by enabling access for audiences without constraint of location, thresholds (physical and individual) and social or economic strata by free entry.

Towards such a vision, the mission is to identify and support budding talent and then provide platform for these artists of all genres to present their craft to the city and its populace.

Abhivyakti encompasses many myriad art forms ranging from dance, music, painting, photography, installations and theatre. Abhivyakti aims at bringing international quality art to the people, absolutely free.

The sixth edition of Abhivyakti is being held from November 21st till December 08th, 2024. This year 49 artists will present 50 performances. Further 46 visual arts will be designed and set up by 47 artists.
